Habitats and Homes

Partnering with schools and community groups including White Gum Valley Primary School, Hilton Primary School, Fremantle Primary School and SHAC, Habitats and Homes is a visual exploration of the future of native animal lives in the Fremantle area. Capturing the reflections of young people in Fremantle and sharing their visions for the future, H&H considers wild neighbourhoods and finds out who calls what and where home.

Creative workshops will be led by multi-disciplinary artists including Rachel Riggs, Roly Skender- Frankensound, Mikaela Miller, Tyrown Waigana and Rebecca Riggs-Bennett.Young people will tackle tactile design processes and digital technology to generate visual understandings of the future. The workshops culminate in a series of live projection events screening outdoors around the centre and suburbs of Fremantle.

WA Wildlife (ex Native ARC) is a key partner in the project supporting a healing connection to local environments and the animals that live next door to us.

We love winter weather, but this event is weather dependent if it’s too wild and wet our plans might change.

We will provide updates on socials & direct to ticket holders if required.
