Kobi Arthur Morrison featuring Walyalup Kannajil

In 2016 Kobi Arthur Morrison travelled with his choir to Roelands Village, located on the Collie River in the Bunbury region. Roelands Village was once known as Roelands Mission, a place where more than 500 Aboriginal children throughout WA who were forcibly removed from their families, were taken, the Stolen Generations. Some of which included Kobi’s family members.

With the extensive history, emotion and spiritual presence, Kobi jotted down his thoughts and feelings and shaped it into the song, ‘May We Love.’

Here Kobi performs with his Fremantle-based community choir, ‘Walyalup Kannajil,’ who gather to talk about and sing for reconciliation.

Filmed and Recorded June, 2022 at PCYC, Hilton, WA.
